In 2026, Samba School Lita Morena returns to the parade of Zomercarnaval Rotterdam and yes! – You can be part of the team!
The theme for 2026 is still a secret, but we can already promise this: it will be engaging, powerful, and exciting, designed to tell a story through movement, music and colour. Joining the parade is not just about dancing on one day, it is about being part of a journey that starts months before the event and builds up to an unforgettable moment.
How does one join Rotterdam Zomercarnaval?
To perform samba in the Zomercarnaval parade with Samba School Lita Morena’s dance team, you join our parade training program. Lessons start months in advance, giving you time to learn choreography, improve technique and grow into the group. Depending on your level and experience, you may need more or fewer training sessions, but everyone is guided step by step.
Participation comes with a cost, which covers:

Who can be a Zomercarnaval samba dancer?
Both experienced dancers and motivated beginners are welcome. What matters most is commitment, energy and willingness to train. You will be asked to choose one of the available costume designs, which helps create a visually powerful and cohesive parade group.
We are also looking for Zomercarnaval support staff volunteers
Behind every strong samba group is a dedicated team that helps everything run smoothly on parade day. Support staff play an essential role by assisting with logistics, costumes, make-up coordination, water distribution, timing and general group support before and during the parade. Do not want to dance, but want to experience the fun & community of the Rotterdam Zomercarnaval? We are also looking for support staff volunteers to join us during the Zomercarnaval Rotterdam 2026 parade.
Volunteering is a unique way to experience Zomercarnaval from the inside, right in the heart of the action. You will be part of the Samba School Lita Morena team, surrounded by music, dancers and carnival energy. No dance experience is required, just reliability, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
